About the piece
The piece as well as the title is both a result of one of de Jongs methods of working – combining sentences and illustrations in the moment he makes them. Never really consciously thinking about the meaning or result, except him liking them put together.
About the artist
Isak de Jong (b. 1992) is an artist living and working in Stockholm. de Jong is currently studying Visual Communication at Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm, while freelancing as an Art Director, Illustrator, Photographer and Graphic Designer in the little free time that’s left.
de Jong finds his inspiration in everyday life, bitterness and tragicomedy. Most of his illustrations derives from observations, overheard conversations and thoughts he gets and hears while walking in Stockholm or on the subway – quickly scribbled down in his notebook or on his phone. With a fondness for stories and emotions he tries to create art with a value beyond just aesthetics which the consumer can relate to personally.
