About the piece
Hollywood Smile is one of three illustrations by artist and visual communicator Liza Forslund where she by the aid of digital illustration explores beauty and female beauty standards. Is the world of beauty solely ruled by the patriarchy where female interests are downgraded or can it be a way of manifesting and reclaiming our own femininity? We must all posses that Hollywood smile to reach perfection. To please society is crucial and being a woman with a bunch of metal attached to ones teeth is the way to go. Not.
About the artist
Liza Forslund (b. 1993) is an artist who lives in Stockholm. Forslund is to be a BA (Bachelor) graduate in Visual Communication at Beckmans College of Design in the spring of 2017. She has a background in classical painting, attending the art school Pernbys Målarskola in 2012- 13 and has since then levitated towards illustration and later Graphic Design and Art Direction.
